Indie pop / hip hop / reggae hybrid Foreign Talks out of Vancouver, WA, has turned the heads of more than a few people as of late. The five millennials provide a Pacific Northwest groove that has caught the eye of notable artists Post Malone, Dizzy Wright, and NW local Myke Bogan. Over the summer, the musicians rapidly exploded on Twitter, gaining 75,000 retweets and favorites from new eyes and ears jumping onto the Foreign Talks train to notoriety.
Brothers Marcus Fischer (Vocals/Guitar) and Madison Fischer (Vocals/Keys)—along with Tanner Steinmetz (Guitar), Kevin Downes (Bass), and recently joined Jeff Wagner (Drums)—formed at a young age and signed to Expunged Records (Blind Pilot, Sara Jackson-Holman) for their first self titled studio release. Having formed their own sound and grown into a cohesive mold since becoming independent, the group continues to grow their fan base through a grass roots style paired perfectly with alternative methods.
With a lifestyle heavily influenced by astrology, the outdoors, and every genre of music under the sun, MTV dubbed Foreign Talks “The Band You Wished You Formed In High School.” And for very good reason: more than 200,000 views on YouTube, paired with 175,000+ plays on Soundcloud, makes it extremely apparent what's in store for the band in the very near future.
Young and in the way, with no plans to slow down, it seems as if the stars have aligned for Foreign Talks.
